The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Prizes for Science & Technology

Assalamo Alikum Warahamtullah Wabarakatuh,

We would like inform you about the launching of the 12^th Edition of the IDB Prizes for Science & Technology (1435H-2014G).

The IDB established these Prizes in 1422H (2001G) to acknowledge  and encourage the achievements of the scientific institutions. The Prizes are annually  awarded to institutions in IDB Member Countries in the following three categories:

Category-1: Outstanding scientific or technological contribution to the socio-economic development of a member country.

Category-2: Outstanding contribution to a specific scientific discipline.

Category-3: Noted scientific research institutions in IDB least developed member countries (LDMCs).

Each winner receives a cash reward of US$100,000, plus a trophy and a certificate.

The deadline for applying to the Prizes is 24^th Muharram 1435H (27^th November 2013G).  Further details about the Prizes and application form are available in the IDB’s website (www.isdb.org).

The Prizes will be awarded during the forthcoming meeting of the IDB Board of Governors planned to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 27 and 28 Sha’ban 1435H (25 and 26 June 2014G).
